When a person is suffering with arthritis pain, that person will try just about anything (within reason) to alleviate some of the pain.

I was told about a method of soaking golden raisins in gin, eat 5 per day and it would help with the inflammation and pain -- similar to the relief gout sufferers experience with cherries.

Has anyone else used this method? What type of gin to use and how long to soak the raisins? Did this method provide a measure of relief?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

I had never heard of this remedy for arthritis pain. After researching this on the net it seems like quite a few people have found relief using it. It seems like any type of gin would do, but I would opt for high quality gin if you plan on eating them everyday...I remember drinking cheap gin when I was in college and that stuff was brutal!

I think this remedy is worth a try. It seems like even if the person feels no relief, it's all natural so it's definitely not going to do any harm. My aunt suffers from arthritis and I'm going to tell her about this remedy.

There are no scientific studies to support this improving arthritis pain, though there is a lot of anecdotal evidence. If you want to try it, put a layer of golden raisins (it seems they must be golden) in a single layer in a shallow pan. Cover them with gin (doesn't matter what kind so long as it is gin; some think it is the juniper berries used in making it that create the effect). Then let them sit out for a few weeks until all the liquid in the gin has evaporated. Then eat nine of them per day.

I'm sure you already have, but if you haven't you should try glucosomine supplements. My wife has arthritis in her back due to lupus, and they help her immensely.

ive never heard of this but i suppose it would work if you ate more then 5 raisins i dont see how eating just five would help though sounds to me like a home remedy and ive never heard of any of those working. if i had to choose a gin though i would probably by the most expenisve one you can find. im not a gin drinker so i couldnt help with the name but im thinking that if its cheap you could go wrong but if its expensive you can go wrong im a tequilla guy and i can tell the diffrence from cheap and good stuff
now im thinking if you ate more than 5 raisins it would help because you would be drunk. i would even go as far as to say get rid of the raisins and just take the shots i know that will work cause when i get drunk i cant even fill my face let alone arthritis

Imagine for a moment your arthritis completely vanishing right now.

If, in a moment, your pain and stiffness melted away. And your joints all of a sudden functioned like a well-oiled machine.

Like a magic wand was waived, you'd be able to jump up from your chair and run around the room like a kid.

And imagine that you'd never have to suffer as much as a pinch of arthritis stiffness or pain ever again.

I know this sounds impossible right now, but bear with me, because sometimes miracles happen.

It was a gift from a woman on the other side of the world. From the kindness of her heart, she took pity on my suffering and taught me how to completely reverse my arthritis.

Today, I want to do the same for you!

No I have not tried it, 5 raisins soaked in Gin per day and I would be inebriated, which might cure the Arthritis? I could go and lay down in the main road wait for a truck, that is also a cure albeit permanent.

It probably doesn't do much to realistically help with the inflammation caused by arthritis, but it's a pleasant way of making the attempt! d:) I'm sure that enough of any alcohol would take away some pains!
