I live in Maryland and was invited to Florida in a couple of months, on a hunting trip...and wondered, if I would be able to purchase a handgun while I am there.

Even though I can purchase a handgun in Maryland, the waiting period is roughly 2 weeks, Florida is 3 days....

Yes, you can purchase the handgun hand have the FFL dealer send it to an FFL dealer in your home state to be transferred to you. The FLA dealer cannot transfer the gun directly to you.

Usually you will have to live in a state that immediately borders another to purchase an out of state handgun.

Many shops won't sell to a non resident...not worth the hassle.
