The name of the first opera of the turkish republic is Özsoy.

The first original Turkish Play "Şair Evlenmesi / The Marriage of the Poet" was written by Ibrahim Şinasi (1860) in the liberal atmosphere of the Tanzimat period. It was a comedy criticizing the established marriage system based on female go-between.

youngturk and Tanju abi are right. It's Özsoy composed by Ahmet Adnan Saygun. It was first performed in 1934.

when I was in high school, "Lellebici horhor " was the first one . I am agree with OMGiamgo.. My opinion ottoman time doesnt make difference..
