When the RACE CAR gets back to the shop the fuel cell is removed and the fuel is put in 55 gallon drums of fuel that are used at the shop for dyno testing and track testing. If the fuel is contaminated or otherwise unuseable it is disposed of as hazardous waste.

I think more people are concerned about injuries, damage to property, and insurance at that point than the half tank of gas they got. It tends to get tossed with the rest of the car, I think, along with all the other fluids. The car as a whole, gets trashed or fixed together. In most cases the car is repaired, so nothing needs to be done with the fluids.

two possibilities.. first if the car crashes and the fuel leaks out.
second, the fuel tank is perfect without any leak...and the car goes in for insurenc
...then the company takes the fuel to do basic cleaning work and all

If the fuel has not been contaminated...then it can be pumped out, stored in suitable container and re-used....or if contaminated then it will be disposed of as hazardous waste, same as the engine oil.

There are many other costs from a accident then fuel. Insurance hikes, repairs, new car to name a few. So this is just pennies.
