for emissions and efficency purposes the engine has 2 spark plugs per cylinder just the way the ford engineers designed it

The 2.5 liter engine has evolved from the old design PINTO motor and emissions were better when two spark plugs were used. That motor has been replaced with the more efficent 2.3 liter world motor Ford uses in lots of cars. Note always replace the plug wires when changing the special motorcraft spark plugs. (you will find out why) The intake side wires get stuck and break instead of remove. And use only the best Ford MotorCraft plug wires too!

yes its about efficiency

If memory serves me correct..It will bolt up if changing between the vehicles (say putting the mustang motor in the ranger) but the transmissions are two totally different animals with the mustang using a borg-warner t5 and the ranger a Mazda M5OD..basically length, shift throws, clutch setup.. as the other said, too many mods unless yanking engines to put in the other

Yes it has 8 plugs ... only to try to improve spark and combustion efficiency. it does not help with HP though.

2 per cylinder as it was designed - but dont worry about the SPECIAL FORD PLUGS - there is no such thing

or did you find 4 in the glove box and 4 in the engine?
