Santa, the tooth fairy, ect will not be ther when you die. I cannot understand how anyone can believe we came from some big bang with some soup that cooled. It is like believing that a computer after millions years of evolution came into being. And we are much more complex than a computer. Of course we have a hard disk (brain), power supply (heart), power source (food), monitor (eyes), sound card (ears, mouth), perpherials (legs, arms, ect), but we are even more complex. We have a concience along with all the other stuff. And if you really wanted to know there is a God, he will show you himself to you. The tooth fair, santa, easter bunny cannot do that.

I never believed in Santa, the tooth fairy, the Easter bunny, or Paul Bunyon.

And it's only your OPINION that it's a "scam" and you don't know for a fact that there's nothing after death. Weren't you ever taught the difference between fact and opinion?

I don't know, but in a recent poll here in R&S many ATHEISTS said they have no problem with the Easter Bunny or Santa Clause or the Tooth Fairy or ET or UFOs or Ghosts or Psychics.

Many fundamentalsts do and don't teach those to their kids nor let them participate in Halloween.

I never believed in any of them (God included)as a child but I did think the Santa thing was fun. I didn't hear of Paul Bunyan until I was an adult.
I'm not making any efforts to buy my way into heaven but I do believe in God.

I hope, you are contributing to making this world a better place. Doing good in this world, is how you get close to God, even if you don't believe in the picture of God most traditional religions paint. I hope you try to become more focused and sensitive, by using meditation, mind-body exercises, a good diet, and the best ideas available. If you do this, it should help you contribute positively to the world, and will connect you more with God, whether you believe in him/her or not.

Santa and the Easter bunny are not used to explain life.. Give them a little more credit, they believe in god(s) because life is one huge puzzle, it is profound and beyond anyones comprehension as to why we exist. The beauty of life makes many people ponder it. Thus they have gods.

Some churches require tithes from their congregation...

Talk about capitalism at its finest...

You can't tell me that the church doesn't sell salvation. It comes with a price...
