Feelings do fade over time, and it is quite hard to tell that they are, as it happens gradually.
It is like watching a lit candle. You don't see how much it has melted, but someone else that hasn't been watching the candle will spot it instantly!
You may not notice any change yourself, because you are always there, so to speak, but other people will be able to tell because they're not!
You will notice little signs if you think about it, such as the first time you smile, laugh, wake up without that heavy feeling in your heart, etc.
Feelings do fade, but we never forget, and that is normal and healthy.
Good luck with the future, keep busy and fill it with good things and you'll be past the worst before you even know it!

True love will not fade. As you get older and mature, you look at things a lot differently and your feelings change.
