Sorry but no you can't upgrade this boiler, apologies to Nossda for disagreeing, (I live close to Baxi and is probably the reason) but parts are available for this boiler, (they are limited and expected supply is short lived), To change this boiler you would probably have to have a condensing boiler, (not to be confused with combination boiler), If finance is an issue, quite a lot of small - medium companies now offer finance packages, including buy now and pay in 6 months, (this is because British gas get most of the work they do on finance, and is the main reason they get the job), Use a company who are approved by a particular manufacturer, (most would reccomend Worcester Bosch or Vaillant), this way, you are more likely to get finance, more likely to get a good standard of system (cleaned properly for a start) and a better (up to 5 years) guarantee, Company I work for would isolate your boiler so the fire can be used, this saves the extra expense of having to buy a fire/fireplace straight away.

Back boilers are history.
Your new boiler will have to be a condensing boiler (unless you qualify for an exemption).
What do you mean by upgrade? You cant just bolt on a condenser!.
What do you wont / need?
why?
unless its simple, spending money on a very old boiler would not be economical.

Unfortunately No. These boilers have not been manufactured for the last 10 years and no parts are available any longer. It is more profitable for manufacturers to switch to making Combi Boilers now.
