Also, if a team acquires a new crew member, will it make news? Are there any crew members that are highly sought by NASCAR teams? Contract battles to attain their services?

The high profile crew members, which are often not the over the wall crew, ex. Crew Chiefs, Car Chiefs, Comp Dir.

I have seen crews traded between the same owner. Roush has moved full teams between drivers. HMS will do it next year between 5 and 25. When Dale Jr's crew chief left, he was allowed to take a coupe of crew members with him for next year.

No, they cannot be traded. That is a job just like any other. They can quit, be fired, look for better job offers etc. like any other employee can. If a team hires a new member it won't make news in your regular paper unless maybe you are near one of the major tracks and that is something that helps the circulation of that particular paper. Sure there are crew members and crew chiefs that other teams would like to employ and they are free to give a job offer to them.

Yes crew members can be moved around between teams example Dale jr crew went to waltrips team when he was with dei and jr got his crew and jrs crew chief for this season is going to go with him to hendricks next season but he got out of his contract with dei so he could so yes they can be swapped with in the same organization but they have to either quit or get out of their contract to go to a new team

An owner can put who he wants where he wants to get
a better team. And usually the Crew Chief stays with the
driver if they have a great rapour. But when their contract
is up they can go anywhere they want and it's usually to
the highest bidder. And no it's not usually news worthy,
unless a whole team moves to another owner.

Yes they can be shuffled around from team to team by the owners. It can be done during a race also You can sometimes see JJ Yeleys Gas can man in an Interstate Batteries Uniform doing that same Job For Stewart or Hamlin for instance if Yeley has crashed out!!!!!!

I doubt if it would make news unless it was someone like Chocolate Meyers, Gas man for Dale Sr. If a crew member is outstanding he may get better job offers.

no one really does it often but yes it happens a few times. to change around the key components of a team would be like taking it apart as a whole and glue the little piece in there, it just doesnt fit right so it doesnt happen often, esoecially during the middle of a season.
