Let's say that a person is truly upright and looking to learn new ideas, who would be some of the best people be to add to one's contact list with respect to politics (Middle East and Asian affairs)?

I would like to find and read their questions and comments.

I think what democracy is all about is the free sharing of ideas among people and the common will to do good in the world.

I would like to add people who either are already involved in political decision making at the highest of levels and/or people who are educated on the issues both Democrat and Republican.

While I am opinionated, I should and hope to try my best to be open-minded and to listen to all ideas.

I feel that by being open to people, we learn. I and a few friends of mine hope to do our part to make this world a better place for all people. Thank you!

I want you to remove the last part kept in brackets.
Why only politicians? Do you forget all other experts, great sacrificers, sport people, Educationists, spiritual heads, your own parents, Masters, Gurus, Teachers and so many irrespective of their trade or profession.
For being an upright and to learn new ideas, I feel any one is preferable rather than politicians. Politics are never upright. There can not be honesty there. Honesty cannot survive there. They will be with out shy and loyalty. They are supposed to take stand even with conflicting statements from time to time.
Hence I strongly feel that you can remove that heading from the list of the people to be added.
This is not to hurt you. sorry. It is my personal feeling and may not be a truth, unless some of my brother/sister answerers also support me.

Go down and hit the flags at the bottom of the page. There should be people down there that can help you with Middle East and Asian politics.

I really appreciate your approach and wish you success. It's rather difficult to have a contact with such people on a regular basis unless it's through some common friends or acquaintances. You see, nobody is ready to trust as yet internet for such frank or personalized ideas or opinions. As an after thought, I think it may be easier to establish contact with them through the groups or organizations they are part of or have any kind of association with.It may appear a sort of derived contact to begin with but can be converted in to personal one with passage of time. All the best.

The one's in politics and government, oh yes! also the ones that actually answer your questions with a true answer, or interest. For the ones who answer your questions rudely, I would remove them from my list straight away, otherwise, they'll just keep pestering you, cheers Max.
