First, let's conclude that Elvis had an amazing voice. With a talent like that, opportunity is more apt to knock on the door. Many folks have no real talent, no real goals, no real education, and they drift about, at a loss as to what to do with their lives.
But, strangely enough, I think it is A who will use drugs, simply because he has the money and is surrounded by prosperous, funloving people, secure in their jobs, that feel they are able to flirt with danger without it affecting their lives.
Strangely enough, I think both of these descriptions fit our president in his youth. He was not particularly talented, no goals, outranked by a steadier, more talented brother, yet he had enough money to do as he wished and felt he was too smart to get caught in an alcoholic trap.
I think that those in the "A" category use recreational drugs, but often become addicted, and real addiction takes money.

Both will have equal tendencies to abuse. While the fella with a job is likely to fall prey to Alcohol, cause he can, not only afford it, but alcohol abuse after hard days office work, is prevalent and a regular affairs now a days. But he is most likely not to fall prey to drugs, cause the same are first of difficult to obtain, secondly the taboo attached to it and thirdly the law.Now coming to the other side, the bloke with no oppurtunity will most likely take to drugs, for the reason that being idle he is likely to frequent joints where drugs are the rule of the day.He will be offerred free for few days till he gets hooked. This scenario is prevalent in India.I cannot say this also holds good elsewhere.

I don't think you can really go by that because our president was a drunk for 20 years until he saw the light. But I would say being stuck on the bottom for too long can lead to a desire to escape reality.

A)
That's a given, being they have something to occupy themselves with, and even more chances at praise by adults whom they care for, for a job well done.
However, there is NO such thing for NO opportunity, so your scenario of B) just doesn't exist. One example, is dirt-poor Elvis Presley, who only owned one pair of pants when he went to Hume High school, because his parents were too dirt-poor to afford to get him another, but dirt-poor Elvis got himself a truck-driving job with no experience. (My 3rd cousin built model air-planes with him, so I know). Then dirt-poor Elvis took a few bucks he'd made, recorded a song, and was discovered. There is NO such thing as No opportunity.
