I think he seems like a good candidate yet I hear nothing about him in the news. I'd prefer him over the other two knuckle heads.

People outside the south don't take southerners serious and/or assume they're stupid.
I feel like Thompson is getting that same treatment on the GOP side.
Carter only won because the nation had a strong anti-Republican vibe going amongst the swing voters thanks to Nixon. Anyone who'd of gotten the Democratic nod that year would have won.
