Well I am originally from Cuba and immigrated to the United States and have lived here for 12 years. In about a year or so, I am planning on moving to the UK with my family(after I finish high school). When I move there, I am completely willing to embrace the English culture with open arms and mold myself to fit into English society.

Do you think I will have a lot of trouble with racism?

You may encounter a tiny bit or racism here an there, but compared to what you will enounter in the USA it will be nothing. Without putting too finer point on it the Southern states of the USA and northern Russia are the two most xenophobic racist places I've ever seen.

There seems to be sadly so much racism in the US just sit around yahoo and read, these are the minds of the people trust me. Look in the south, watch the news. Unfortunately I believe racism is alive and well. Things have to change.
I wish you were right Mermaid. Alot of people in the US wish you were right all the minorities wish you were right. The blacks wish you were right, the mexicans wish you were right, so do the asians..and all other visible minorities in the US

it's not really racism the brits are inclined to as far as i know, it's xenophobia, which for those not in the know is a fear of foreigners, not necessarily people from other races. i've seen a comments of a few british people on youtube and apparently they look at immigrants as a hindrance to their economy. but most of them are nice, open-minded people. or so i'm told. :P

Why didn't you ask your family dear, they might be having some opinions about UK too. right???

As I told that, U.K is not at all like US. US is a country that accepts all. But UK, what I heard is there are lot of racism. I am not sure.

Anyway all the best. Be yourself always.
