take the measuring tape
the watermelon seed
and do the experiment on a windy day and ....
the wind will bring the watermelon seed further......
i think i once did it with the wind about 5 feet then without was like 3-4 feet --- but that day was REALLY windy!

About 2 miles! I walk over to the cliff on the mountain and spit it out! So yeah about 2 miles!

I'll have to try it next time I have a watermelon. I'll let you know then, that is if I remember I said I'd do it come next summer when you can buy watermelons again.
