Marion was putting 20 and 10 before even Nash got their. That's a Fact!!! Sometimes people give a little to much to Steve Nash.
Any who Marion is versatile in the sense of a player that fill up every stat. Points, Reb, Blks, Stl,. Ast is on the if and if.... But if he could handle the ball and dish out 10ast he could be a modern day Big "O" ... I used think if Shawn Marion could be the Next 50 greatest. I dunno. But I will say this Marion isn't called the Matrix for no reason

He's one of the most versatile players in the NBA if not the most. Marion is able finish on the break, shoot the 3 (man, is that shot ugly), rebound, and defend players from Tony Parker to Tim Duncan. He is definitely versatile, not doubt about it. But if you're saying he's the most, then you're forgetting about Lebron James, Andrei Kirilenko, and others. In my opinion, Marion at his best is the most versatile. He's a great fantasy player.

Shawn Marion is no boubt one of the versatile player in the NBA, but if you say the most, then you have a lot to consider: Lebron James, Ray Allen, Andrei Kirilenko, Tim Duncan, Tracy McGrady, Kevin Garnett, Dwayne Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Ben Gordon, Rasheed Wallace and the list of players goes on. These are players who had contributed a lot in almost all aspects of the game. It's hard to single-out just Shawn Marion to be the most...

Marion is 6'7, got mad hops, can drain the 3 ball, finish the break, block shots, steal, play D effectively from the 1 all the way to the 4 and of course rebound with the best of them.
He used to play the 3 but after Phoenix changed to the run and gun system them slotted in nicely at the 4 for them. That should pretty much prove his versitality.
He kinda reminds me of Scottie Pippen who would do all the little things teams need to win. Underrated by most too due to being a sidekick to Amare and Nash in the case of Marion.

The human pogo stick is super quick leaving most people standing still when he makes his moves . I beleive he is one of the most under rated nba players. Year in and year out he does the best for any 6ft 7in players. In my opinion he is one of the most versatile in the nba. I live in phoenix and have enjoyed his efforts for years....We need him to win our first NBA title... Go Suns , and shawn marion.....

Shawn Marion is the best player in the NBA but somehow he flys under the radar and gets no credit for what the Suns are starting.

I would say he's the most versatile on defence. Offensively i don't think he's that versatile. He won't take his defender off the dribble and his not a great passer either, but occasionally he can hit the three. and hes got that relatively dependable "squirt" shot. Is he worth 20mill? Wouldn't say so. But he's definitely an important part of the suns.

check marions' stats before steve nash. Nearly identical, but no i don't believe he's the most versatile.
He can't drive the ball, dribble the ball, pass the ball. I think currently the most versatile player IF HE WANTED to be is lamar odom. There is no one with his rebounding ability who can pass and shoot. Too bad he's not motivated enough while playing with Kobe.
