One evening a family brings their frail, elderly mother to a nursing home and leaves her, hoping she will be well cared for. The next morning, the nurses bathe her, feed her a tasty breakfast, and set her in a chair at a window overlooking a lovely flower garden.

She seems OK, but after a while she slowly starts to lean over sideways in her chair. Two attentive nurses immediately rush up to catch her and straighten her up. Again she seems OK, but after a while she starts to tilt to the other side. The nurses rush back and once more bring her back upright. This goes on all morning. Later the family arrives to see how the old woman is adjusting to her new home. "So Ma, how is it here? Are they treating you all right?" they ask.

"It's pretty nice," she replies. "Except they won't let you fart."

No never, we looked after my mother in law in our home for five years until she died last year aged 94, it was literally 24/7 but we did it together without out any outside help from social services. She never complained about anything in spite of being blind for fifteen years, and she never farted. She really was a one off.

You are going to have to consult an attorney on this one. Since you have power of attorney, it may be possible for you to have him removed from her home. Power of attorney basically gives you some power over her and not just financially. Its her trailer, although on your property. However you have your brother removed, your mother is gonna be pissed over it since she apparently is willing to have him there so there is no way you are going to be able to take care of this without her going ballistic over it. You can get a restraining order and once he does violate it, the police would have no choice but to take him away (since you state he would just ignore it anyway).

I wouldn't leave any body's mother in a home,
Especially when they can't fart!
Some work on that fart to music and you would be denying someone else that beautiful sound of an art.

No I wouldn't. I wish farting were the only problems at nursing homes.

If she needed care I couldn't give, I would - but I'd be sure to tell them that she leans when she farts- lol!
