The regular season was the dream of every baseball fan. The Phillies run for the division. The Yankees incredible come back after the all star break. The Rockies pulling off the impossible to make the post season.
But then came the playoffs and everything went right down the toilet. Possibly the worse post season in history.
I suppose Boston should get some credit for at least having a pulse. The rest of baseball looks like the "Walk of the Zombies".

As a baseball fan, you always know that the each World Series game is probably going to last a few hours and could possibly stretch past midnight on the East Coast. But you stay up late to watch a good game, because you are a fan, even if your favorite team isn't playing. But watching the Red Sox just pound the crap out of the Rockies is like watching lambs marching to the slaughter. Why would I want to watch any of these games past the 3rd or 4th inning? It was bad enough to see the Rockies get into the playoffs on a controversial call (HE WAS OUT), but then to have them do the "Cinderella Story" to get to the World Series, sit on their butts for nearly a week (what? They couldn't scrimmage their AAA team to stay in game shape?). I can't stand the Red Sox, but at the same time they are a great team to watch. Everything they do suits a purpose - score runs, win games. It would be nice to have a team up to the challenge from the NL. Maybe the Mets could have done a better job, (if they had only made the playoffs). So yes, while the Red Sox nation will celebrate another title, it would have been nice to see the World Series go at least 5 games. Well, maybe next year.

This is what you get when Seligula's dreams of "parity" and "competitive balance" come true.
Both are synonyms (or euphemisms, really) for "mediocrity", which has been the theme of his entire life. When all the teams are roughly equivalent in talent and skill and performance, no one wins more than 90 games (check the NL standings, this year and last), postseason series can be decided by mistakes as much as by luck, and one great team -- heck, one pretty good team -- can tear through the opposition like wet tissue.
TBS is probably royally pissed because it got a total of one game more than the absolute minimum (for all the Division Series and the NLCS), and none of those high-value Games 5, 6, or 7. (Fox, OTOH, is probably dying at the thought of a four-game Series sweep, even with Boston involved, but Fox should suffer, so this is all right.)
This isn't a bad Series, per se, but Boston clearly has Colorado outclassed at every turn, both on paper and on the diamond. The Rockies never had much more than a puncher's chance, and while they have a good chance at winning Game 4 if Cook really is up to snuff (and breaking -- ha! get this -- Boston's seven-game World Series win streak), Beckett is waiting for Game 5. Face it, when the Sox fly back to Boston, the trophy is coming with them.
This is Selig's Folly, this pervasive mediocrity. And remember, a salary cap would only exacerbate this effect.

Well, I am a Red Sox fan, so I think it has been great, but looking at your summary of the total experience, I actually agree that it hasn't been the most exciting post-season. Not a lot of drama, aside from the Red Sox coming back from 3-1, and even that was less dramatic than those kind of come-backs often are.

Yeah, the tiebreakaer game was the best so far. And it's been downhill since unless you're a Red Sox fan. But from a pure baseball standpoint, this postseason has been kinda lackluster.

The major change that needs to be made is fewer playoff games; best 3 out of 5 for playoffs best 2 out of 3 for semi finals and best 4 out of 7 for world series.
too many games during the year and too many games in playoffs. boring and unnecessary
go Yankees!

Remember the Houston one a few years back. Blowouts happen, and hopefully the Rockies win at least one.
