Americas budget deficit has increased from 304 biljon dollar in february to 455 biljon now. What would you think about a normal family, that continued to spend borrowed money while its debt continued to increased and become bigger and bigger and impossible pay durin their lifetime? That seems to be what Bush and his government is doing now.

And where do you reside brainiac? I agree freedom is not free! Do other countries just come to us for humanitarian needs? Why do we lend money to anyone or forgive loans when we have a deficit? Yeah, we Americans... we are a crazy bunch! All republican, democrats and independents. Aren't you glad you can call on us anytime!

The current strategy is to fight until we are able to successfully turn it over to the Iraqi Military and leave as soon as possible after that.

To simply say quit begs the question where does that leave Iraq? Doomed to the terrorists, Iran or any other country wanting to take their land?

I am tired of the BS about the USA not getting involved in other countries problems. Wouldn't that be nice...than why do we spend so much on relief for disasters, and humanitarian needs? Why do our celebrities go to other countries to care for their children, when we have sick and dying right here at home?

Because we are a nation who cares and it applies to the military support as well as the relief and humanitarian support as well.

I think it is very hypocritical for liberals to want it one way for social programs and another for the military.

Unfortunately, that money could be comped by taxes. Its not the first Rodeo for are budget and war,and it wont be the last.An example is the same deficit raised during WWII.We didnt have the money then, even the oil producing nations, stopped accepting dollars and would only take gold bullion, since the US dollar was weak at that time.Weve balanced a growing deficit to zero during Reagan/Bush sr.,and the country prospered, why dont you think it couldnt happen again? You may want to take note how much money we lend also. Its in the billions.Whenever there is a disaster around the world, the first place nations turn to is us,even the ones that hate us,look at north Korea.

Yes, most Americans are aware of the debt. and it's worse than you state. The national debt (the total amount of borrowing of the US) will be at 9 trillion soon. It was 5.4 trillion when Bush took office.

Some Republicans think it's okay borrow to pay for the war because as Dead Marxist says: "The Liberation of Iraq will pay huge dividends own the road, and our children wil reap the benefits" These people don't realize the profits that go to multinational oil companies and war profiteers such as Haliburton and Blackwater, don't wind up in the national treasury, especially when taxes are so low, and corporate income is so easy to shelter off shore.

However, an increasing number of Americans are concerned about the growing war debt because the indirect effects of an economy built on borrowing are becoming evident. The mortgage and housing markets are tanking, the stock market is falling, and gas prices are going through the roof.

ya, ever since bush has been in office we have been getting further and further in debt. that is why the american dollar is so weak. and how are we going to pay all that money back? The only thing possible is an increase in taxes, and the conservatives will blame liberals for raising the taxes when it was actually their actions that cause a tax increase in the first place.

Lack of affordance is not only measured in monetary terms. This disgraceful and war mongering administration has reduced Americas influence around the world to that of a bully with big guns. Diplomacy, morality and reason have been shown to be palpably absent in the American armoury.

Wrong. That is a small percentage of the U.S.'s GDP. The U.S.'s GDP is $12,000,000,000,000. It has a large GDP because the U.S. has a constitution that supports capitalism. It also has the smartest and most creative people in the world. (list of U.S. inventions: Have You Ever Noticed, Most Countries Make Money From Copying U.S. Inventions?

America's budget deficit for 2007 was only $163 billion and has been steadily going down over the last few years. Your information is wrong.

Also, we raise $2.5 trillion in tax revenues each year and it's rising, and Hillary wants to use it to spend more than $200 billion more in hand-outs for health care.

That means that not only can we easily afford the war we're in, we can afford to open another front and pay for it, as well, at the same time.
