If you think you can go for it.
Most folks are nice to the disabled but like with any thing, you get some that don't care or understand . and while you are at it teach some disabled that the world doesn't rotate around them also. I have met bad from both sides
and as we all have a disability of some kind then to teach others they must first under stand what a disability is.

My husband has been disabled for 7 1/2 years now and I can only think of one person who was not nice to him and we're out and about almost every day.

However, you sound young and may you are be experiencing something different in a school situation where kids are being insensitive. So by all means, write an article for---say---your school paper, etc. It's nice that you care about this topic.

Try learning how to treat people with disabilities like people, instead of "being nice to the disabled" instead. Then maybe you can teach that.

My sister has cerebral palsey. I find that most people treat her kindly and with respect. Perhaps that is because I would get VERY nasy with anyone who treated a disabled person with anything but dignity.
When my sister is with me and she has her disabled placard, we park in the disabled parking. When she is not with me I would NEVER use those parking spaces. I believe most people are sensitive to the needs of the handicapped, and know that we are all of equal value.
If you want to teach people to be nice to others, begin by being the example, and speak to anyone who is unkind to remind them that ALL people should be treated kindly.

No you don't have to teach me how to be nice to people regardless if they are disabled or not. I treat everyone with kindness and thats how others should treat each other.

No. People should be nice to each other because they should. It should have absolutely nothing to do with being disabled or not.

It would be very advantageous for you to tell people who have no morals or are too immature to be nice to the disabled. However, it should also be inherent in all human beings, but it is not.
