when there is lots of oil and natural gas deposits over there that could be sold by the US Government, while we are there trying to get that country in order, but yet, this isn't being done, the entire war costs are being sucked out of the American People, when these taxdollars could go towards helping those less fortunate in our own country. President Bush continues to drain the government coffers with this war, why not utilize the vast amounts of oil deposits in Iraq to pay for this war, and when we do finally withdraw from Iraq, then turn the oil business back over to the people of Iraq to benefit from?
i think if our government were to start paying for the war using the oil and natural gas in Iraq, there wouldn't be so much political opposition to the war.
What is your opinion on this?

To the answer regarding Pelosi, I don't pay any attention to what politicans say, they are only looking to drum up new votes, nothing more. And I am told that I am wasting other people's time by asking this question, well, if thats the case, then why is it that the American people are still paying through the nose for this war, when the entire war could be funded by the oil that is buried in the ground of Iraq. And, I have a couple of Island for sale for the guy who wants to sell me the Brooklynn Bridge! You have an Island during low tide and lots of open water during high tide.
If you do not want to answer my question with intelligent answers, then don't waste my time with your childish insults.
And, for some reason, you call yourself an ADULT!

The worst thing you can do in a war is what the other side expects you to do. For a second let's imagine Bush's response, as well as ours, being planned. 9-11 didn't cost anything for "them", just a couple of pre-planned casualties, but by now it has cost us hundreds of billions of dollars. What if (now that Bush and congress have spent precious time, money and lives) a real enemy emerges? What if we are forced into a "real war" with an organized army. The US will survive, but at what cost? Still imagining that this "real war" is coming we are already hundreds of billions of dollars in debt. Basically, if Iraq is the bait, then who is waiting until we have exposed enough of ourselves to be considered weak and vulnerable? Every dollar and/or troop we invest in fighting/saving Iraq, is one less we have.

Well, the American people don't have to pay taxes. They could just refuse, though if they chose to refuse, the government would attack them, just as the mafia attacks those who don't pay their protection money.
Of course, the claim that the Iraq War wouldn't cost anything and would be paid for by oil was a lie and was just war propaganda from the start. The War on Iraq should never have begun and should be ended immediately.

bush is in the pocket of the oil companies, and they are the ones selling Iraqi oil so if the government began doing this, the oil company's would withdraw all support for bush.

50 years from now, no more fossil oil for the world market... and those who still have them will control the world!
If you want to conserve for such control in the future, would you wish to use up other countries oil's reserved first before yours... would you?
It's all for the power in the future!!! Peace...

Why do we have to pay taxes to support the lazy breeder class? Lets make all taxes voluntary. Do you agree?
