If you are nearsighted, things in the distance are not focused without correction. If you are farsighted, nearby objects do not focus properly.

Convex and Concave Lenses
Convex Lenses
Example of refraction
Effect caused by the material and the shape of the lens.
Converge light
Can make objects appear larger
Used to correct farsightedness
Concave Lenses
Example of refraction
Effect caused by the material and the shape of the lens
Diverge light
Make objects appear smaller
Used to correct near-sightedness
Also if you want to see some pictures, go to www.ask.com and type in concave and a bunch of information will come up for you.

Long sighted people can focus clearly on objects far away and cannot focus on objects nearby, this is becuase their lens does not bend enough (ie. it is to straight)
The rays of light meet at the back of the retina, and the close object becomes a fuzzy image.
Short sighted people can focus clearly on objects nearby but cannot focus on objects far awar, this is becuase their lens is to bent (ie. It is too curved) the light meets at the front of the retina and interprets the far away object as a fuzzy image.
Hope that helped :) Sorry no diagrams!!

Ok serious area here. I can't sleep, (had a nightmare) so I'm just going to be myself right now. My answer: On me, far sighted and near sighted makes no difference. Everything is blurry and I cannot see things at a distance or up close. About the concave/convex lens, might be best to ask an optomitrist. (sp)

Those with myopia see nearby objects clearly but distant objects appear blurred. With myopia, the eyeball is too long, or the cornea is too steep, so images are focused in the vitreous inside the eye rather than on the retina at the back of the eye. The opposite defect of myopia is hyperopia or "farsightedness" or "long-sightedness" — this is where the cornea is too flat or the eye is too short.
