Why would you wanna see the Red Sox play the Mets, they have no history together. If you are coming to NY to see a Red Sox game, go to Yankee Stadium, just don't wear anything that says Red Sox there, because the subway will be the least of your problems lol.

New York today is not the New York of 30 years ago, the subways are safe. NY not only has the least crime per capita of any major city, but also the least crime period of any major city, but the perception of NY never changed. Having said that, if you have never been to Yankee Stadium it is in a dumpy area, and the area looks very bad, but its safe.

And to "here to help", I guess you haven't been to Yankee Stadium for many Red Sox games if you think the rivalry is over-rated. Granted it's no where near as bad there since 9-11 because there are about 5,000 cops at every game now, but prior to that and esspecialy in the 1977 & 1978 seasons, it was very intense.

It's a no brainer.....Sox and Yankees! It's all about the rivalry even though it's one sided. There is no "real" history with the Sox and Mets.

Yankees Stadium........Red Sox and Yankees. A packed house on a clear summer's day. It doesn't get any better than that!

On game days ,& with game crowds it's not an issue. Pick the game you want you go to.
