I have no idea what the cracking sound could be, but the costochondritis.. is very painful
and it is located down by the rib cage and the breast bone..

sounds like what u have been writing about..
but I am no Dr..
Have it checked out by Ur Dr.. next week.. the best of luck to ya..

Maybe u've cracked a rib, its possible to do that just coughing, strap it up to offer it some support and see if that helps till u see the doc, or maybe give them another ring to expain the problem and u may get an earlier appointment

It could be costochondritis. I don't know a whole lot about sternum problems, but it is a ***** bone to x-ray.

Unless someone knocked the living **** out of you, your bones shouldn't be rattling. Please consult a doctor as soon as possible.
