I'm use to it, 3 hours and I'm good. The last time I've been a "zombie" from lack of sleep was when I pulled an all nighter two days in a row. That's killer.

Having served my country in the Infantry I learned to function on less than a couple hours of sleep. But being older and far from being physically fit. The Rob Zombie falls upon me more often than not. When it does the only way to deal with it is to get some rest. 10 to 15mins. to go for another 4 hours. But it is best to get a full 8hours sleep, eat three meals a day and exercise on a daily basis. If you plan on going for 48 to 72 hour cram sessions. But I would not try to push yourself beyond 72 hours without sleep; you start to hallucinate and lose motor control.

Man do I ever have this problem. I usually just go about the next day as if I'd slept as long as possible. Then I go to bed as close as possible to the regular time. Most often I sleep the second night and get back on schedule. Good luck and I hope you slept last night!

Well, as someone who had a long Military Career (and yes, I am a Military Retiree) .. was a Long Term Single Parent (and you know that I definitely did NOT get enough sleep then either ..

And as an Empty-Nesting Retiree with a Nephew that Ticked me off (with his bad behavior)

Let's see ... how do I handle the LACK of Sleep?

Well, let me say that as I reach hour 35 or so .. the fact that I am STILL UP, that my MOOD is most definitely NOT GOOD, that anything that could be considered RUDE or destructive is going to INCUR the WRATH of the ADULT me (that can't stand by and see bad behavior of any immature someone) ...

I am MOST DEFINITELY going to SAY something, be VERY UPSET, and I WILL NEVER let the bad behavior go .. IN FACT, I will comment on it (quite loudly -- and .. guess what .. since this Nephew also irritated my sister-in-law she was also waiting in the Background to START IN on HER lecture of the kid when MY Voice gave out!)

I am NOT a Zombie .. in fact, I get VERY, VERY active, clever, and start turning things off .. I blocked the kid's access to the computer, put the Parental Controls set to a 5 year old on the TV, took away the Electronics that he had in his possession (and locked them in my car to give to my sibling's ex when he returned), DENIED him a 'treat' when I took the OTHER kids out (who were behaving), etc etc etc!

AH, you wouldn't believe it that the little punk tried to call me nasty names .. when I put all these filters and controls on the Available large electronics ... the little jerk (who thinks he is 'clever') found out that he is NOT 'clever' at all ... in fact, he found out he was COMPLETELY Lacking in intelligence .. and I found him the Next Morning CRYING to himself in a corner because of the multiple passwords (on each device) that he could NOT figure out how to defeat! (I ended up falling asleep somewhere around hour 45 ... AFTER I put all the Parental Controls on (and Randomized all passwords -- each different -- I programmed them myself!) !

NOTHING like having an Auntie who has Graduate Degrees and a knowledge of computer programming that will put any little punk to shame!

I can function semi-normally, but I get really irritable to the point of bitchiness when I haven't had enough sleep...not good. As long as I am *doing* something, I'm okay...but the minute I sit down and start reading or, God forbid, end up in a meeting, I'm screwed...

I don't handle it well at all. I zombie out all day and I get a rush of energy at night. I don't know why.
I end up buying a liter of whiskey and getting hammered so I can just pass out. It doesn't always work though
Good luck

I'll get super tired the next day when it's time to go to bed, but during the day I have no problem. I do drink a lot of coffee on a regular basis so that might have something to do with it.

I guess I'm the opposite. I get so wired from the lack of sleep and I'd feel so happy and excited!

I usually sleep to make up.

I just woke up after 21 hours of sleep after I stayed up 24 hours.
