Some songs are happy and upbeat, while there are others that just want to make you sit down and think
Like "Dance With The Devil" by Immortal Technique, that's probably the saddest rap song I've ever listened to, it's got a very deep story

I've never found rap to be depressing but it depends what you listen to and how personally you take to the lyrics...
some rap can actually pull you out of depression (eg. listening to 2pac- keep ya head up)
On the whole I dont think rap is depressing music or 'crap'... if thats how you feel about rap then you're pathetic and need to look deeper into the lyrics

It depends. For the soul conditioned towards hate, racism, vanity and violence, rap is immensely refreshing and enjoyable.
For souls who seek love, harmony, awareness....they tend to fing rap depressing, negative.

No, to me rap gives peolpe a since of reality. What's actually goin on. The real! Although sometimes it may be misleading when it comes to sex, drugs and money. It makes people feel good ,music you can dance to. It caters to all emotions.
