Hey everyone! I'm trying to play WoW for the first time, but I'm having problems getting the patch/patches that the downloader gets the first time you try to log-in. I'm behind a firewall that I have no control of, and because of that, the download just stalls out. Is there any way to get around a firewall I can't access? Or is there another way for me to get these downloads? Thanks for any help you can give!

An afterthought, if I get the patches from an alternate source, which files do I need, and will I be able to go around the downloader once I have them?

if you are on Vista, it's not the firewall. on Vista, you have to right click the shortcut to WoW and select "Run as Administrator" and then give the program permission to download (a box pops up and asks yes or no or something like that).

I had this problem and thought it was my firewall until i looked it up on the wow webpage.
