Should I study abroad in Prague or Paris?

I can't decide!!!! They are both beautiful and interesting. Does anyone know if Czech is very difficult to learn compared to French?

From a practical point of view: unless you are intending to live in the Czech Republik the French language is much more advisable to learn. Most (young!) Czechs are learning English - so there's almost no point in learning that language in order to start a career: French, German, Italian, Russian, or Spanish (in alphabetical order) are much more important. But if you think about not only learning Chech but also other languages it might be ok.

Instead of going to Paris I'd rather pick a university in a smaller town in southern France: Better climate, much more interesting landscapes, maybe close to the mediterranean sea, and a less expensive living. Or why not decide for a german university? Some are still free, most others compared to the USA pretty cheap; and Germany is located between Chech Republik and France - good basis for travelling during semester breaks.

Anyway, please keep in mind that you should have a rather good knowledge of the language that is spoken in the country you wish to study. Often that's required when applying to a foreign university. Also in France less people are speaking English compared to the Chech Republik (or Germany, Netherlands, Scandinavia, etc).

No question Prague. I have been to both places many times and have lived in the Czech republic. The language is difficult to learn but it's worth the trade off from French. The main difference is that Czech people love Americans. "LOVE!" the French have always treated me like a piece of "#$%@!". Hope this helps.

Prague has the oldest University in central Europe, it has a vibrant cultural life, nightlife. The father of modern education, Jan Amos Komenský was Czech.
The reason to go and study abroad is to experience a different culture, going to Prague would be different.

Czech is harder to learn, different language structure and fewer words that sound familiar.
(Unless you already speak a Slavic language like Russian or Polish.)

Will the classes be in the local language?
In that case, Paris is the only option.
But if the classes are given in English, Prague is most likely the better option.

Prague is way cheaper.
You will be able to get around socially with English while you learn enough Czech to survive.

Definitely Prague! It's easy to get around the city on public transportation or by walking. It's a gorgeous old city with very modern overtones. Living can also be cheaper in Prague than in Paris.

I've been told that Prague is the most beautiful place in the world. And its less tourist-y. Go there!
