I brought a mirror from home depot today, I brought these two mirror mounting double sided tapes as one of the sales person told me, and mounted the mirror on my wall as the instruction, but after 2 hours the mirror fell off the wall and shattered. and I still return the mirror back to home depot? For some reason I felt like I'm not responsible for this incident.

Thank you for your help

Well, my husband has been a store manager for them for about as long as they have been around. And the answer is Yes. Tell them exactly what you just wrote about, and if they have a problem with that, point out the person to them. They aren't dumb, they know the sales people they have aren't that knowledgeable in the hardware business, nor are they really interested in learning. They have such a tremendous turn over in sales staff,by the time you count to ten on your fingers, most are gone. Most are just wanting to get through collage,or whatever, and could care a rats *** what they say. If you really want reliable advise ,you should try shopping at a True Value,Ace, or Do it Best. Now that's where you find people who if they don't know the answer to your question, they find out. As a matter of fact, you don't even get to leave the store without the correct answer,or advise! Sorry you had trouble,if it would have been me,you would have been a very happy returning customer. Unfortunately, at Home Depot,or Lowe's those days are gone my friend! Byee

With no offense to you; nor the chain; Certainly you should alert them of the issue; and hopefully have the packaging for the sticky mountings. I cannot imagine anyone suspecting that would hold up any serious weight; but even if they don't refund you; they should be made aware. I'd probably go so far as to note the manufacturer of the "stickies"

It's unlikely this will be a landmark civil case for any court room; but you might consider other/better methods of hanging a mirror next time.

i would go back and speak to the sales person who you originally spoke to said you followed there instruction and mirror broke ,then ask them what THEY are going to do about it .
sort of puts the ball in their court for a remedy.
