If your AVG is the free version, then you know why it didn't trap, and heal. I use AVG 7.5, and never had a problem.

If it is a virus it is probably active if your anti-virus software hasn't been able to disable it. You can try using ctrl-alt-del and using the task manager. select processes and look for one with the same name as the file. You should be careful though, and write down whatever process you end, just incase it is the wrong one so you can use the start process function to fix it. If you can manage to stop the program, you should then be able to delete it.
I hope this was helpful, and good luck.

download and burn a knoppix ISO and reboot your pc with it in your drive, once its loaded set the write permissions and go to the directory where its located and delete it. YAY LINUX!
BTW knoppix installs on your ram and not your hard drive so when you take the cd out and restart your pc agian windows will start just fine. but if there is registry entrys it may come back (a google of the same file didnt bring many results nor tell me if it installs any entrys. knoppix should do the trick tho

The easiest way to remove a locked file or a file resident in memory is KILLBOX.
http://killbox.net/
This utility basically deletes any file you specify on reboot, renaming it to another name and then zapping in on reboot... check it out.
I use it when I need to manually remove spyware of other harmful bugs...

Just a suggestion, but you might try removing from start-up, then before you shut down, roll the system back to a date prior to infection, if that's feasible.
