If you look after leather is can last a lifetime.
You need ot keep it clean using water based products which will rehydrate the leather.
Dry leather is caused by lack of moisture. You do not need to add oils, waxes or fats as these are locked in during the tanning process and are not removed with cleaning.
If your leather has the correct moisture balance it will feel soft and supple. Dirt and body oils will cause leather damage by breaking down the finish and then the leather will be open to further damage.
