On average How long does it take to learn how to do a split ? I'm trying out for a Dance Line its where girls in flashy dresses get on the side lines of the football field and dance (almost like cheerleading) at my High School and you have to do a split in the audition . Well i can get about 3 1/2 inches away from the floor but i wanna get ALL the way there ! i have until Nov 20 th. Do i have time ? I practice 5 hours a day Every day (no joke) im THAT serious about getting in this thing ! Im really worried so do you think i have time to get all the way there?

Yeah, just spend about an hour a day doing nothing but stretches. I'm a dude and I could do it easily when I was in high school. Yeah, practice your dance, but you need to stretch at least half an hour before and half an hour after you practice. Plus, don't work out hard at all for a couple days right before your audition. If your muscles are stressed you won't be able to stretch as well.

Stretch for at least twenty minutes and practice dancing for at least forty minutes daily. If you stretch and practice every day, you will probably be able to do the splits by November 20. You're pretty close to the splits already, so it should only take a few weeks to perfect if you put effort into it. Remember flexibility comes naturally to some people, but not everyone. Don't get discouraged with yourself, just do your very best and you will be able to achieve your goal!
Good luck! :)

I am a guy and I can do front splits and side splits. Stretching is the easiest way to be able to splits in just months. Have you heard of the PUSH and FIGHT stretching?

Basically, you will need a friend with you. You have to lie on your back then lift your legs at 90 degrees or how high it can go. Ask your friend to take your leg and push it down to your chest as far as it can go. Remember to relax and do not tense your muscles. Also, make sure that your other leg is steady on the floor. It should not be lifted because that mean you are not stretching. Then, after 2 minutes, you have to FIGHT. Meaning, you have to use your legs to push your friend. When you do that, you are using stretching your muscles to their limits.

Continue doing it for 10 Minutes each leg. If you want, you can do sideways as well for the side splits. Good Luck!!

i have only met one person with this done and im not sure if this is the info u are looking for but he was telling me about his procedure and he said he went to a hospital not a piercing studio to have it done because its considered cosmetic surgery. he said the surgeon used a cauterizing (not sure how to spell it..the tool that basically burns the nerves and deadens them) tool and then stitched each side of the inside up so it didnt bleed as much and it would heal faster and since it had been cauterized there was less of a chance it would regrow and close. he has had his for a while and he seemed pretty happy about it...and actually no one ran screaming from him it was the opposite. people were very intrigued about it..it looked so painful but to each his own...good luck and make sure ur safe and go to a clean and respectable doctor...enjoy ur new modification!!! p.s and for everyone whose giving her a hard time about getting married and finding a job..1. shouldnt she have a man in her life who accepts her for who she is and loves her no matter what? and 2. this procedure IS reversible so if she really feels like its causing an issue in her life or she gets tired of it she can get it reversed and u would never be able to tell she had it done in the first place!!

You should practise yoga (the advanced stretches). It makes ur body very flexible. Hope this suggestion helps.

you either can do them...the splits or you can't although you can learn to be more limber, some just can never do the splits, I however could do them both ways because of being double jointed....

hokay, if that is your most dire concern right now, you need to go smoke something and relax, because there are people in this world who have ACTUAL problems that pertain to the real world. worrying whether or not you will be able to do the split won't change the outcome. you'll either be able to do the split by November 20th, or you won't; people telling you that you will or will not be able to do it won't help your legs get into a split. so chill the freak out and go crack open an orange soda or something. chillll, enjoy life, and don't worryyyy. :0)
