In some furnaces there are temperature sensors and air flow sensors and if one of those isnt working correctly the furnace shuts off because it would overheat. You probably need to get the unit serviced so all of the relays and sensors have been checked . You may also need to check that the flue isnt blocked by a bird nest or anything.

It may be simpler than that. This could be just the setting between the on and off temperature settings (usually on the thermostat). If that difference is too low it will switch on and off often. the larger the difference, the less often the switching. A disadvantage for a larger difference is that the air temperature will vary. The other when it is set with a smaller difference is what you have, switching too often. In between somewhere there is an ideal.

Call a furnace repair person. The furnace is cycling on the high limit switch. Don't take advise from clueless people on here.

if the furnace cuts on and off only after running for a while the first thing i would check is to see if the fan motor is clogged up with dust. if the motor overheats, there is a thermal override switch that shuts it off until it cools down a little bit, to keep from burning the motor out altogether

When's the last time you replaced the filters? Could be a bad thermostat also - pick up a cheap one at the hardware store, hook it up and see what happens. If it still shuts itself off, call a repairman.

Same here it was simply the filter that need to be change. I called out the gas company to make sure there was no other problems. Always join one of thoes Home Protection Plan with your gas company.

Your question had me really confused. I read "My FIANCE turns on for about 10 minutes . . . "
Lol. I had no suggestion with which I could supply an answer.
