Heat moves and cold is the absence of heat. So the heat flows from the hot water into the cold - therefore the answer is both: the cold water heats up and the hot water cools down.

Heat is energy. When the hot water touches the cool water soem of the energy is transfered to the cold water.

Therefore, the hot water cools down (releases energy) AND the cool water heats up (gains energy). So your answer is both!

It does both the hot water cools down, but the cold water also heats up. They both do this until they meet in the middle i guess you could say. They will both even out until it comes to its ultimatum
