My daughter wears a uniform and at the beginning of the year it's a lot cheaper than buying new school clothes. My daughter doesn't mind because everyone looks the same and it makes getting dressed in the morning really, really, easy.

I used to wear uniforms at my public school. Not really a bad thing, it saves a lot of money, kids don't get to fight over who has the most expensive baggy pants and you don't really lose your identity. A nerd would still be a nerd with a uniform, a bully will still be a bully and the rich spoiled girl will still be a rich spoiled girl. The only difference is that it would take a few minutes to identify them all.

Private school kids have uniforms. I don't see why public school doesn't follow that practice. I like for my kids to be identified as students (to and from school). If I see kids wearing uniforms during school hours I also know that they are not were they are supposed to be. It also takes away such a burden of fashion statements which young kids go a little over board about them. (some times)

I live in Australia and we do have uniforms. From what I've heard, not having uniforms is a very big hassle for both children and parents so I'm happy with uniforms.

I had a uniform when I was in a public school. It was really easy in the morning. And it wasn't a competition over who was the richest with the coolest clothes. So, I'm all for them

I am absolutely pro!

I moved to Oklahoma in the 80's and even though my family made terrific money, we chose not to show it.

I was tormented at Hefner Junior High school because
my family didn't provide the clothes to be popular.

I still have hate for one teacher to this day. I hope for his sake

we never see each other. I'm 265Lbs and have no problem
using it.

Uniforms make everyone more equal.

Yea, I know your daddy makes this crap per year.

Mine made more.

Uniforms level the field.

Well, my i'm a public school girl and my school has uniform!
It isn't very strict and we can still wear jewlery, the dresses don't need to knee length.
I don't mind it but when people say uniform makes people all look the same, i disagree, you can always tell the "cool" kids from the "nerds"

okay i am a highschool student, and i don't believe uniforms are best for middle school, or highschool students. because i feel that the older children get, the more their true colors begin to show, and the more rebellious they get. they should be able to show their personality, and wear what they please; without showing too much skin. it doesn't really matter with elementary school kids though

In public schools?
I think that's a bit strange...
I go to a private school and they have uniforms.

I think it's good, because then you don't have to spend crazy amounts of cash on trendy school clothes for the kiddies. And also then you can't tell who the less fortunate kids are since everyone is dressed the same.~~
