My granddaughter is 5 months old and is breastfed. Her poo has never been solid--always watery and diarrhea like. Is this normal? Otherwise, she seems just fine.

Yes, it's yellowish in color. The doctor knows (but I don't like the doctor)

Breast milk has a natural laxative effect on the baby. The stool will be loose and watery with very little smell. Sounds like you got a winner on your hands. Good luck to you and your new little family!

If it is yellowish in color then yes this is fairly normal in breastfed babies. Call your pedi just to check and make sure that her stool is normal.

Normal breastfed poo is yellow, watery, and has what looks like mustard seeds in it. My son's also had a slight smell to it that sort of reminded me of vinegar.

that is normal.....not diarrhea
you cannot compare her to a formula baby.....as one of the posters here already did...rolls eyes
and she may only poo once a week or so....which is fine also for a breast baby
so yay for you can encourage her mama to continue with the breast
