@Amanda & Kamal: of course it's easy but can you give details?

The numbers are 69, 71, and 73, so the answer is 69.

The cube root of 357,627 is slightly less than 71. It seems that 69 x 71 x 73 is a possible product. The result can be verified. Note that 9 x 1 x 3 = 27, thus making the last digit a 7, which is a good visual check.

Alternatively, solve a cubic equation by setting up a product of successive odd numbers, say, x-2, x, and x+2 as Sneeze has pretty much started for you. Do you need more details?

It helps immensely to first find the factors of 357627.

These are : 3 * 23 * 71 * 73.

Seeing that 3 * 23 = 69, gives the answer immediately.

well ...if you call the middle number x, then

(x-2)*(x+2)*x = 357 627
(x^2 -2)*x = 357 627
x^3 - 2x = 357 627

now let me point out that I'm only 15!!!

im sorry i cant prove it, but let me point out the cube root of 357 627 is 70.something, so you perhaps could use that

sorry!!

x(x + 2)(x + 4) = 357627
x(x^2 + 6x + 8) = 357627
x^3 + 6x^2 + 8x = 357627

using quickmath.com

x = 69
