Are there any websites where I can type in a certain site and see if its a scam or not?

I know there are descriptions and stuff of how to detect one, but is there actualy a site that can go through it for me if i was to give it the site name?

(scam sites that "sell" products)

the "phisher detecter is built into the browsers now. so when u goto the site and its fake, then the browser wont allow u onto the pages.

What you are describing might not be phishing. Phishing would be a site that is pretending to be another site. If you typed your password into a site that was pretending to be another site then you should change your password immediately and keep an eye on your credit cards... If you entered your credit card into a site that was pretending to be another site then you should cancel that card right away and watch for invalid charges. If it was your online bank then call the bank...

I think that what you are describing is more, you purchased something online and want to check the site out. I would suggest doing a search on google in the groups section. Click the more and click groups from the menu and type in the name of the site you bought from there. Also just google it in general. Hope this helps.

If you're looking for scams one of the first stops would be the Better Business Bureau's site (bbb.org).

Another good site is the Rip Off Report at www.ripoffreport.com

check scam.com or ripoffreport.com
but generally scam sites are easy to find
as most scam sites will want information from you up front
and will have little to no information on what they do much less any sort of contact information
also scam sites usually start with number then a domain name
such as 89cashnow.com or 21cash.org

Not sure about a web site, but you can use your IE browser tools to check with microsofts database for phishing sites. just click the tools menu and then "check this website" under the "phishing filter" menu.

It looks pretty legit, but you never know with these kinds of sites. I would suggest just sticking with amazon.
