Elders stick to their ideas because they have more experience & have seen what works and what doesn't. It doesn't make them right, but at least they have maturity & experience to their benefit which is more than I can say for most teenagers & twenty somethings.

Why have a question with such limited scope? Why not ask if a 10 year old is wiser than a 15 year old? A 15 year old wiser than a 20 year old? A 20 year old wiser than a 25 year old? If one believes that experience and wisdom are related in some general way and that at some point teenagers are "more wise" than elders, then there must either be a general rule that all younger ages are wiser than older ages OR there must be some mysterious breakpoint where suddenly the rules flip... 15 year olds are wiser than 10 year olds, but suddenly it flips and, what?, 15 year olds are also wiser than 20 year olds? Is there some magical age that is wiser than ever other age whether younger or older?
The question you pose is certainly an easy one to ask, but if you give it any consideration at all, the answer is much more complex than the one you seem to imply.

Teenagers just think they are wiser..............
I thought the same thing, when I was a teen, and then I realized I knew NOTHING! I was still just a kid, no 'worldly' experience, immature and actually knew nothing about anything. I just talked big - but it was all just a sham because I was scared of the truth and scared of life.
Talk with older people; they've already experienced EVERYTHING and can help teens a lot.
'Older ideas'... they work; always have and always will.
Electronic gadgets (ipods, cell phones and etc.) - they're only fads and fads come and go. Learning 'old fashioned' ideas - never come and go. 'Old fashioned' ideas; this is where EVERYTHING started from. Learn these old fashioned ideas and you'll see exactly how easy the world can be and how easy your life could be.

I believe today's teenagers are not wise at all. Elders are experienced and have lived life. They are wise and understanding than that teenagers. Some teenagers are just self-centered and selfish. But elders they care more about other than they do about their selves..Elders are not always correct but majority of the time they know what they are talking about! So in my opinion elders are wise than teenagers!

Its true in certain ways..but then again it comes back to experience, dont forget elders has gone through the same things as you have and hence they know better than us. Its cool to call them older generation and old ppl uncool and stuff when you grow up and have kids your kids will call you such things....Suggestion: Why dont you try to bridge up that gap between you and your elders, things would be much more simple and easy to understand rather than doing the blame game..

I don't know what your question is... you just answered it. Look, I'm 29 and you might think that's old. It kinda is, but when I was a teen I thought I knew everything and my mom and dad were so lame and didn't know anything and surely didn't know the first thing about being cool. Oh how embarrassing it was! But you know what? They lived a lot longer than you have and they know the consequences of what happens. They've been through a lot more than they'll admit to you. And another thing, hearing my grandparents talk about their younger days, it seems like it was a whole lot better back then. A lot more calm, laid back. Men were men and women were women. You'll have to be old like me to know what the hell I'm talking about. Sorry. So in simple answer to the question you did actually answer yourself... NO.

If you believe that then you should be ashamed of yourself. You become wise from trial and error and learning from your mistakes. Teenagers are none the wiser. Haven't you ever heard that saying?
And your statement to your question is not very intelligent. Were you spoiled as a child or maybe you are still being spoiled? Is that what you think of your parents and grandparents?

yes and no----some teens can be very wise, and others completely foolish. but elderly people do stick to there beliefs, when indeed some of them are very wrong. i'll give an example.
basically i've dealt with depression for almost 4 years, and my grandmother (who's 73) thinks that medications are wrong and that i should just go sit outside and absorb some vitamin D. how is that supposed to help? thats what she's grown up with and thats what she believes. she's not taking medical research into consideration!

Us teens think that we are smarter than everyone, but the elders are actually always right. So when you turn in to an adult, you realise that they are right and you feel stupid about a lot of the choices you made as a teenager.
