I stopped using birth control too because it was messing with my body. I didn't want to get pregnant but what happens if you do nothing to prevent it? I now have a sweet little 1 month old daughter to go with my 5 year old daughter. We are happy though.
I'm with you though on the birth control. I think when I go into see my obgyn I will ask for the 10 year IUD because it doesn't contain any hormones. I don't like condoms either because it does seem so impersonal to me like you are sleeping with someone you hardly know. As long as you are in a serious and monogamous relationship, it's better to have the intimacy without the condom. Just be careful whatever you decide.

That's a new twist. Any type of sexual conduct when your not married to some would sound more like a whore. At least you're trying to play it safe if you're not interested in becoming pregnant and I completely understand the not wanting the additional hormones.
Look at it this way, condoms are one of the only contraceptives that can help protect against some STDs. I'm not saying that either one of you are a risk, but it's one up on the condom from any other form of birth control. Also, you don't have to sit there and wonder if you took your pill that morning. Sure there's still a chance that you could get pregnant with a condom but abstinence is the only form of birth control with a 100% guarantee. Codoms also come in various shapes, textures and colors now which can also add fun to your relationship!
Bottom line, only you and your boyfriend need to answer for the decisions you make. You're with one man, not many so the whore image is out in my mind. Just enjoy your time with your man and don't worry about what kind of contraceptive you're using other than to use something if you're not interested in the pitter patter of little feet!

My husband and I used condoms for a few months when I went off the pill. I didn't like it, though. Not because of the reasons you said, but because it just didn't feel natural to me or him. I don't do very well with hormones, so going back on the pill wasn't an option for me. He had a vasectomy about a year ago and it was the best thing he could ever have done. If you and your man are certain you don't want any kids, that is always an option.

Hey, try some of the fun ones! My hubby & I sure don't need to use birth control or the pill as we are Old Farts. But we do like to try new things once in a while. There's some innovative condoms at a store near you that are designed for pleasure & for a new feeling, so to speak. Some are grooved inside & out, have been lubed both on the inside & out, some heat up with use, heck, there's all kinds. Some do a bunch of things. Stop worrying and start enjoying!

I would like to know where did you get that silly dumb ideal that condoms is for whore and one night stand only? You need to mental grow up lady. Just because you using the pill and think it the way to go for a serious relationship. Lady you still missing the whole ideal of protecting yourself from STD. Pill and condoms will protect you from unwanted pregnancy but the pill can't protect you from STD. Since condoms make you feel like a one night stand and whore at the same time. I suggest that you need to go back on the pill, until you're ready for condoms. good luck

condoms are a form of birth control and help in preventing std's
There is a new form of birth control that is not hormones. It is a small device that is placed in your uterus that prvents pregnancy. You can keep it in for 5 years and have it removed when you are ready to try to get pregnant.
There are many benefits to being on the pill. The main thing is to take it everyday around the same time.
Talk to your doctor about options in birth control.
I'm married. My husband and I use condoms.I like the "cleanness" of them.
If you're not ready to have a baby you should use some form of birth control.

Naw you fine with condoms. Hey either way it's birth control. But you have some serious hang ups about this thing then just go back on the pill of use a diaphram of something.

I don't think condoms are just for one night stands, but if you feel that way then you should talk to your doctor about other options for birth control.
Also- I've been on the pill for 15 years and will be on it for at least another 10 years due to problems with cysts and PMDD. Are you having bad side effects or what made you decide to go off it?

If you use your rationale, doesn't the pill seem even more whorish than condoms. Couples in serious relationships used condoms because they are responsible and dont want to have children, just like women on birth control. The only difference is that the guy is doing the pregnancy preventing, not you. Yea.. you're crazy!

Condoms are for anyone who is not ready to have a baby. There is no shame in using them.
There are other methods besides pills and condoms. If you are uncomfortable with those then look into what else is out there. Talk to your gyno.
