Co-curriculum activities (a school play, concerts, art shows and sports days, clubs) are the necessity of creating ANY personalities. Of course education needs to be about learning. But learning needs to be about life.

Knowledge without socialization creates great minds who must be found and dragged out to make use of them. Governments might like for such people to be perfectly happy living in dark labs creating things with no consideration for how it affects the rest of mankind, but Im pretty sure that the rest of us dont.
IMHO
