They both sound either like a boy name, or a surname.
It doesn't really pass as a unisex girl name, like peyton or cameron.

Can you really see a little girl in school, writing "Abington" on all of her artwork? Or in high school with boys? With a job?

Well, Abington is a place name. (In Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and England; more places, too, I'm sure.) So if others can name their offspring Phoenix and Dallas, I think Abington is a perfectly valid choice.

In fact, I have a friend who considered Abington about seven years ago. She opted for the traditional Abigail, and now regrets that her Abby is one in a crowd of same-named little girls.

It is a touch unisex, but there's no shortage of female Emersons, Jordans and even Ryans out there.

I would go with Abington Rose.

Is Abington an absolute certainty? If not, maybe you should find another similar sounding name that is a little shorter for her ease through life. I must admit, the more I look at it, it always seems like there should be 2 "b"s, but I guess it's your right to spell it however you want.

If you are already set on Abington, go with Abington Rose. Unless her surname starts with an F, which would make her initials ARF. Make sure you think these kinds of things through.

Oh dear, don't like abington at all sorry. Abby is a cute name but not abington. It sounds like an old english tudor house like "abington manor" or something like that.

sorry i think you may have to re-think your choice a bit. middle names are fairly generic so okay i guess.

Abington Rose

Just out of curiosity, where did you get Abington from?

Abington sounds like a hybrid, futuristic version of "Abigail" and "Arlington." I personally do not like Abington at all, but that's just me.

I love on the other hand the names "Autumn" and "Aurora." Both those names would go with the middle names you chose.

Autumn Jane.
Autumn Rose.
Aurora Jane.
Aurora Rose.

I think if your child hated their first name and you went with a first name beginning with "A" and the middle name "Jane" they could always go by the nickname "AJ." Just a thought!

Good luck! :0)

I don't really like Abington, but if your set on it, I like Abington Rose better. It's prettier. I really like Abigail Rose, though.
