Yea.. i have received lots of complaint and request from help from my friends and teachers alike. AVG anti-virus definitely DID NOT do the job of cleaning it.. It said it was uncleanable. CA anti-virus (http://www.google.com.sg/url?sa=L&ai=BQZYOqhMkR8iiHImysAKQjLi8A-S05jKsrvGaA5z4rsgB4NQDCAAQARgBILZUKAI4AVDz3rjn_v____8BYL-N9AWqAR5vcmcubW96aWxsYTplbi1VUzpvZmZpY2lhbCtjZnPIAQGpAn6yOh6sabE-2QN-3AoqwDTFHg&q=http://send.onenetworkdirect.net/z/713/CD56742&usg=AFQjCNGUbFA15sZJmOqqG18eVqSV_g1EXQ) did it quite well though. =)
As for the rest I am not too sure. But, since you have already been infected, i wont recommend you to install a new anti virus. The best thing i can think of at the moment is that you back up all your files now. Then, your files, go to another PC or MAC and scan it thoroughly using a fully paid internet security suite software (the one with anti-adware+anti-virus+anti-spyware) (Try using Norton, Mcafee and prefably CA) Then, with all your files backed up, reformat your this computer. Note: the problem together with all your files that is not backed up will be permanetly deleted. This is the safest way to kill it. Of course. after reformating, please install the security features in to protect yourself.
Goodluck!
=)

You will have to be more specific on exactly what virus your computer had.
