Honestly, no. My boys are in their late teens, so it's not a real concern for me. But, for younger kids, not a chance. There are too many nutcases out there just waiting for a chance to hurt kids. Have a party or go to one for the kids instead of trick or treating. That way they can still dress up and have fun without trusting strange candy.

It depends when and where. When I was a kid and used to trick or treat I used to go with family at night and it used to be safe. Now people are worried about late night trick or treating. I remember the streets used to be full of kids and adults just going door to door having fun. Now it seems different and the streets are full of kids when it's still light out.

I guess times are changing.

I actually accompany my little cousins around, however, if I had a child of my own, I would let them participate. I'd tell them to act responsible.

Some elements of Halloween is pagan, but it's heavily focused on dress-up and candy. It's nothing more but a commercial holiday.

i used to, but mine are 15 and 11 now and they dont really want to go and feel like they are too old, so i get them a halloween gift bag and fill it with candies, and fruits, and a few nick nack toys, etc. then we spend the nite watching horror movies together and playing board and card games together.
