For some reason I've heard sportscasters say it like Halliday.

It's pronounced "holiday". If you follow any team long enough, you'll hear every possible mispronunciation of every player's name - there are a lot of lazy broadcasters out there (particularly national ones) who don't realize that knowing how to say the names is part of their job.

Maybe you're thinking of Roy Halladay, he plays for the Toronto Blue Jays. That's pronounced Hal-a-day.
But Matt's is pronounced just like "holiday" but with an extra "L".

It is simply pronounced: Ha-la-day. Just like Holiday i.e. Halloween,Christmas, Etc

Its pronounced Mat Holiday. That's how he pronounces it at least.

That's probably just the announcer's accent. Everyone else just says his name like it sounds.
