Babyface
I pretend that I'm glad you went away
These four walls closing more every day
And I'm dying inside
And nobody knows it but me
Like a clown I put on a show
The pain is real even if nobody knows
And I'm crying inside
And nobody knows it but me
Why didn't I say the things I needed to say
How could I let my angel get away
Now my world is just a-tumblin' down
I can say it so clearly but you're nowhere around
The nights are so lonely the days are so sad and
I just keep thinking about the love that we had
And I'm missing you
And nobody knows it but me
I carry smile when I'm broken in two
And I'm nobody without someone like you
I'm trembling inside
And nobody knows it but me (yeah)
Lie awake, it's a quarter past three
I'm screaming at night if I thought you'd hear me
Yeah, my heart is calling you
And nobody knows it but me (well, well)
How blue can I get?
You could ask my heart
But like a jigsaw puzzle it's been torn all apart
Billion words couldn't say just how I feel
A million years from now you know I'll be loving you still
The nights are so lonely the days are so sad and
I just keep thinking about the love that we had
And I'm missing you
And nobody knows it but me
oooo oohhhhh yeah
Tomorrow morning, I'm a hit a dusty road
Gonna find you, where ever, ever you might go
And I'm gonna load my heart and hope you come back to me
(Say whent the nights are lonely)
(3x with adlib until fade)
The nights are so lonely the days are so sad and
I just keep thinking about the love that we had
And I'm missing you
And nobody knows it but me

Hard to say. What's depressing to one person may not be depressing to another due to personal experiences. But the "Dreaming Neon Black" album by Nevermore has many good songs. It's a concept album (an entire album about a certain theme) based on something that happened to the singer. His girlfriend left him to join a cult, despite his warnings. She was never heard from again. She's presumed dead, but he doesn't want to believe it. He's eventually driven insane by dreams of her. http://darklyrics.com/lyrics/nevermore/dreamingneonblack.html

Try some of the old tearjerkin' hillbilly (now country) tunes from some of the old time country (hillbilly) singers.. Notably someone like Hank Williams or Hank Thompson.(Give me a beer and a six pack to go is a good one to start out on.)
