I'm not necessarily talking about destiny....but these days my times have been feeling empty. I'm also not saying that I'm looking for a purpose in every single moment, but it's as though every moment I live isn't for any greater purpose. The days fly off the calendars and I stay the same. I know I'm only 13, and I can't exactly fly out there and accomplish things, but I'm just looking for a purpose....a reason....SOMETHING to give my days purpose to live through.

I have God in my life, but lately, the harder I try the less I feel Him around my life, and I'm grabbing onto the last wisps of hope.

What do I do? Or is life really just about getting an education, to get a job, to support yourself, to make a family, then die content like that? Again, I'm not saying those things aren't accomplished goals themselves...but I just feel like it's not....deep enough.

I've been there. I've tried to live for the better of other people, but I've found that the phase passed and I still felt empty in helping others, even if it was for helping them.

Also, I already play tennis

I like how you said to "you know, leave the world a better place"

That is something good...but for now I can't exactly do that

Seeing how you feel, I think you should enjoy life as it is. I mean, try to make the most out of life everyday. Maybe that way you'll be more satisfied.

Or, you could maybe start something new like a new sport or art. That'll at least give you something to work at.

Or you could try to think of something that you want to accomplish before you die and work to meet that goal. I suggest you make it a hard goal like stopping some sort of pollution or inventing something awesome. You know, leave the world a better place.

Basically, life is just like what you said: education, getting a job, etc. But, to live with more of purpose you have to give yourself a purpose! This brings me back to that leaving the world a better place thing. Maybe if you had a long term goal you wouldnt feel so empty.

And, about trying hard to feel God, continue to trust Him and have faith in him because if you have invited him into your heart, He will always love you and He's always there. (even though you don't realize it)

Hope this helps.

Read your comment. Well, you don't have to achieve goal right away if thats what you think I mean.

That goal was meant to last almost your entire life. For example, if you plan to find a cure for cancer what you could do now is do well in school so you can get into a good medical college. Then, go on from there.

You have to figure out a way to work toward your goal gradually. You have to take into consideration your age when working toward your goal.

I think from what you want to do, you're expecting too much.

I sure hope you will be happy about your life.

My sincere advice: either come up with a goal that will take your entire life to meet or just relax and enjoy life at its fullest.

Think of life more as a train. It is not a station, but a way of traveling.

Needs and wants will be unlimited. Possessions will come and go. If you heap up so much value in tbe particulars of life, you will always find yourself unsatisfied after you have attained them, or not attained them.

You have the power within yourself to WILL yourself to be happy. How you feel is not something that happens to you. How you feel is your CHOICE. So if you CHOOSE to be happy, you can become so. And because you live and breath, think and feel, you have a meaning and a place in this universe. You are a part of it all but you struggle when you try to see yourself somehow outside of it.

Do not disdain achievements or education because with these can come enlightenment. You are a deep thinker for one so young. But you have much to learn and what you are going throuh are the normal growing pains of someone seeking to know the truth, all in the moment of a only a few years on this planet.

I hope you do believe in a God because without a God somewhere, this may all seem meaningless. But you don't have to subscribe to all the conventional ideas of who is God, where is God, what does God look like, etc. Think of yourself as a measure of God in and of yourself because this is ultimately from where you came.

Life is indeed a circle and you will find many things repeating themselves over and over like the changing of the seasons. But what you have is time to experience the beauty and the spledor, the passion and all the pain that comes with living in this universe. The alternative may be oblivion, I don't know. But with each breath of air, each ray of sunlight, each little good thing that happens or each bad thing that happens, know that you are ALIVE and that TIME is your most precious resource.

Strive to live a life that makes YOU happy and one that you can be proud of. You may have many lives after this but ultimately , we are all here to learn. And you are doing the right thing by asking questions. The answer to finding happiness is within yourself.

I say that you're doing precisely what you're assume to be doing at 13. you've a many years in which you go with to anxious about the meaning and purpose of on a daily basis that you stay. immediately residing is the only maximum significant element you could do. That incontrovertible truth that you "have God" on your existence makes you existence all that more suitable significant for it truly is written "more suitable is him who's in you than he who's contained in the international." those he's are 2 diverse entities. the first is the Holy Ghost which lives in you. the second one is devil and his want to tug you faraway from the daddy with techniques of a purpose more suitable that what God has referred to as you to be. The emptiness that you're feeling is the Holy Spirit longer to connect to the daddy. i'm no longer declaring that you're not to any extent further doing what you're assume to as a Christian although the bible says the position the praise and worship of his all and distinctive is so shall he be. enable him understand how a lot you want him and how a lot you savor him on your existence. Sing songs of praises to him. he's with you and he will handbook and direct you. So, What do you do? Love God and Love your neighbor. search for the face of God each and every morning and evening by humbling your self in the previous him. concentration your self on one element, LOVE, and do it the great that you'll. definite, practise, pastime, funds, relations and demise are all area of existence yet contentment can in simple terms be chanced on once you enable bypass of the international and grab ahold of love.

Hi.I have read similar questions from other 13 year old teens. I think the way the world is at the moment, is enough to put a damper on any ones life.We are going through one of the most immoral, corrupt, sinful, periods in our history.Wars, famine, terrorists, natural disasters etc.50 years ago life was more peaceful. There is no "good news" on the TV anymore, just bad stuff. God gave Satan one century in which to exercise an extended power over the World. The devil chose the twentieth century.
This is a prayer i often say and i feel better after saying it. You can give it a try ,if you like, and,if it doesn't help, you have lost nothing. Here is the prayer :
"Most Holy Trinity,Father,Son,and Holy Spirit,i adore you profoundly and i offer you the most precious body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges, and indifference by which he himself is offended and by the infinite merits of his most Sacred Heart and the immaculate of Mary,i beg of you, conversion of poor sinners"
I am a Catholic, but unfortunately Most other Christians ridicule and make fun of my faith. They tell lies and asume to know all about it.They do not understand God's mother Mary and her roll on Earth and in Heaven. They also give different answers about who God is. I had a period in my life when i felt hopeless and did not want to carry on .So i began to drink alcohol which made me feel better until the effects wore off, then i needed to drink again. This lasted about 20 years ,but i gradually got better. It was very hard to do ,but i knew if i kept drinking i would probably die. I sincerely hope you find your purpose in life, as i'm sure you will.

Trust me when I tell you that your only young once... enjoy being young, having fun! I wouldn't be looking for purpose just yet... It sounds as if you are a very smart person for such a tender age... go swimming... throw a ball for the dog... fly a kite... read good books... don't pay the bills until you have to! Invent something new... stretch your imagination! or just lay in the grass and watch the clouds go by... ask yourself who you are and who you want to become... give it some thought, but do it gently... and give yourself time to come up with the answer! Good Luck Hon!

hey kiddo,
You have life to live, explore your surroundings, know yourself
when we talk about helping others, that does not mean that you move mountains or solve their problems in jiffy,
Give it time, everything happens for a reason.
Education is the base of every human being, let me tell one practical truth if you are strong only then you can support or help others, so first stand up yourself, by this I mean groom yourself into a strong, independent, self sufficient individual, & to do this U need to get yourself good eduaction,
everyone has a purpose to deal with & it is reveled when its time.
but if u r still not satisfied then my honest & well expeienced suggestion is Meditation is the key to every lock
u can start meditating by visiting the link

You are very young for feel all this, when I was on this time I was full of hopes, dreams and yet although years has happened, I am full of dreams, I believe you should learn all the new in the world, many languages, make friends, funny, go to parties, but don`t feel so, look for a girlfriend who can understand all you feel.

This is when it is time to exercise your faith. Maybe it's getting a little flabby...or! do you have your own faith or just borrowed faith?
Yes life will do this. It ebbs and flows. We have suffering then we have joy (jesus,others,yourself)...we get deep then we shallow out for a time. We change constantly.
But God is the same, always and forever. Take comfort in that!!!
