Open up your Device Manager (under System in the Control Panel). Look for any devices, especially Universal Serial Bus (USB) devices with either a yellow caution symbol or a red stop sign. These would be faulty USB connections.

If you don't see any try removing the USB device from Device Manager. Then go to the top of the Device Manager tree and right-click and select :Scan for changes" This will force the system to reload the USB drivers, often this will fix the problem

Good Luck

The problem you are experiencing is quite normal. Sometimes, normally after years of using a memory or after it has stroked to the ground a couple of times, the memory starts gettin' crazy. So that when you plug it, the computer doesn't recognize it.

How to fix this error? There isn't any way. You need to remember that the problem is physical, so the memory is internally damaged. Thrust that this isn't your case, and that your memory is just having a blackout, so Google 'flash memory recovery' and get the best tool for you. There are many good programs out there, free, that make a good recovery job if your memory is damaged, or if it isn't and you just want to do a backup.

Despite, if the problem is in the memory's hardware, start thinkin' in buying a new memory and avoiding any crashes.

Good luck, and hope to have been useful.

Seriously, sometimes the USB ports go funny.

So turn off the computer ( at the power point) go outside wait for 20 minutes, come back, and turn the computer back on.

Your flash disk may be showing signs of getting fried and slowing down when being accessed.

Maybe you should backup your files and reformat the flash disk. That might help.
