Changed wrestling for the worse. People are always saying that since the name change, wrestling sucks. Regardless if it would have stayed WWF, Austin, Rock, Jericho, Dudleys, and all the other guys people complain about, they would have still left or retired. I dont see how a letter change 'ruined' wrestling. People are going to answer this and say the writers changed, they would have changed anyways, no matter if it stayed WWF or not. I believe that if it was still the WWF, it would still be as bad as it is now. What do you guys think?

Because the name change coincided with the roster split and storylines getting worse than what they were during the (WWE vs The Alliance aka the end of the Attitude Era).. The two things happened at the same time: The Attitude Era ended around the same time WWE got the F out.. I know it may not sound realistic but the coincidence makes it seem that way..

the WWF had to change to WWE because the World Wildlife Foundation would never grant the World Wrestling Federation to use WWF. the world wildlife federation always owned the trademark.

When vince mcmahn's father owned the WWF it was know as the world wide wrestling federation, WWWF vince only changed the name about 30 years ago when he took control from his father.

*** the letter change didnt change wrestling the poor talent and storylines did. really after HHH and HBK none of the current young wwe stars are concerned with making each other better. they are only concerned with getting their gimmick over to the crowd. old wrestlers like ric flair, ricky steamboat, roddy piper were more concerned about the craft. those guys would work so hard they would make anyone who wrestled with them look good.

The WWF was hardcore?? lol never ecw and the 'hardcore' are as much to blame for wrestlings downfall. really is it hardcore to fall 20 feet when you have guys catching you or hit a guy with a florescent bulb? yeah tacks hurt but not that much when you're wearing 3 flannel shirts and or getting paid $5000 to do it. the gimmicks like that get old fast there is only so far you can go with them. if the wrestlers are any good they can have a more interesting match without relying so much on the props

the reason the change it was because the wrestling WWF got sued by the World Wildlife Foundation. about the three letters WWF. Its still the same.

Easy question. The letters WWF was owned and the copy rights belonged to the World Wildlife Federation. They were forced by the court of law to change thier name. and vince's closest thing he could come up with without changing to much was the WWE, world Wrestling Entetainment

The only reason the WWF changed into the WWE is because the World Wildlife Fund sued them claiming they had a prior right to the name and won.

WWF or WWE it would still have become the same crap it is today. It's moved too much away from wrestling and too much into stupid storylines and scantily clad girls.

i think the reason why they changed was because of a lawsuit. i guess a some little kid was looking up world Wild Life Foundation (WWF) & world wrestling federation popped up & someone got mad & made a big deal about it so they had to change it....

Yea, that makes no sense.
Regardless of whether it was WWF or WWE, Cena would have still been champ for over a year.
