Subsidized doesn't necessarily mean you're secure. Canadians are subidized for their health care. If they're diafnosed with something requiring like cancer and need an operation their given a number and wait to be scheduled. The health system only allows so many operations per year. If that's been reached then wait and hope for next year. A couple of months ago there was an article,in the paper, about a Canadian couple who went to Montana where the wife had a cesarean to deliver identical Quadruplets. The Canadian hospital had reached their operation limit and had a three month wait for premature baby care. Thanks, but I'll take independent anytime.

independant for me all the way! My opinion is you are only as secure as what your standing on! and I know a lot of people that had what looked like security and out of no-where the bottom fell out and they were all left with nothing! at least when your independant your struggling, but you still know what you have today and how tomorrow is looking
