okay, scoot the decimal over by one space to the left. $26.418 is what you should get. round the one up if you have to. you see, 10% is the same as 0.1. what is one-tenth of $264.18? the idea is that the end result should be a smaller number. from now on, whenever you are given (some #) X by a number starting with one "1" and zeros behind it, convert the percentage to a decimal and scoot the decimal place of (some #) by the number of zeros you see. for example, if you can asked 1000% of 10.111, convert the percent to a decimal (1000% = 10 times of something, because 100%=1times of something, and 1000% = 100% x 10). because it is ten times of something, you scoot the decimal to the right ONCE, because there is one zero in "10". if you saw "10000000% of something", take out two zeros, and then scoot the decimal to the right based on how many zeros are left (7 zeros minus two zeros is 5 zeros, so kindly move the decimal to the right 5 places).

now, let's look at a decimal percentage, such as 10%. 10% is equivalent to 10/100, or 0.1. now, depending how many spaces the "1" is behind the zero, you will move the decimal to the left of the given number. so 10% of 250. 10% = 0.1. since the "1" is one space behind, the decimal gets moved one space to the left, and you'll get 25. have fun.

10% is 10/100 units or 0.1. To find 10% of $250, multiply these numbers together

0.10 x 250 = $25.00

Since 0.10 x 10 = 1 then 25 x 10 should be the value you started with, which is $250.

$25
to find this out, since its 10/100 or 1/10, or u could even say 1 divided by ten, you have to move the decimal over once to the left. hope this helped!
